Travel grant sponsored by UAE Microbiome 2023

Award application submission deadline: August 21, 2023

Student category

Students from any nationality are eligible to apply for this travel grant. To apply for this grant, you would need to meet the following requirements:

  • be an active UG, master or PhD student
  • must submit an abstract for a poster or oral presentation 
  • be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster)
  • if eligible must indicate in while abstract submission
  • the award will be given during the conference
  • submit a conference meeting attendance support application including CV, and cover letter (as one pdf and rename your file as “firstname_lastname_student_travel_award.pdf”) via email at uaemicrobiome@uaeu.ac.ae and use keyword “Conference Attendance Travel Grant Application – Student Category”
  • clearly state how participation in this conference will help in their education and research and why financial support is important

Postdoc, instructor, faculty, and scientist category

To apply for this grant, you would need to meet the following requirements:

  • applicant must be employed at a university/institution located in a low-, lower-middle-income country. See the official list here (https://datahelpdesk.worldbank.org/knowledgebase/articles/906519-world-bank-country-and-lending-groups) provided by the World bank
  • must submit an abstract for a poster or oral presentation 
  • be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster)
  • if eligible must indicate in while abstract submission
  • the travel award will be given during the time of the conference
  • submit a conference meeting attendance support application including CV, and cover letter (as one pdf and rename your file as “firstname_lastname_scientist_travel_award.pdf”) via email at uaemicrobiome@uaeu.ac.ae and use keyword “Conference Attendance Travel Grant Application – Scientist Category”
  • clearly state how participation in this conference will help in their research direction and why financial support is important

Student Presentation/Poster Awards

The conference is supported by International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) and a few presentations and poster awards will be awarded to the best posters presented by authors that are students (master, PhD) or early career researchers (postdocs). The winners will be selected by the scientific committee and announced at the end of the conference.
